About Control Solutions & Pipework Services
Established in 2000 we are a business working primarily in the food industry. You will be carrying out installation, repairs and modifications to pipework and process equipment. We also offer turnkey solutions incorporating electrical, mechanical and automation works.
What do I need to know?
Due to expansion, we are recruiting for a site works chargehand to assist with leading and managing welding and pipefitting jobs on site. This role suits either an existing chargehand/supervisor or experienced TIG welder pipefitter wishing to progress into a supervisory position.
Role and Responsibilities
- Reporting to the site and workshop supervisors, leading a team in our workshop or on site throughout the UK to carry out installation and repair of hygienic stainless steel pipework.
- Procurement of materials from approved suppliers as necessary.
- Liaising with customer representatives to progress works and feedback progress.
Desirable skills
- Experience of working in food production environments.
- Hygienic TIG and stainless steel MIG welding.
- Working to approved welding procedures.
- Measuring, cutting and fitting of stainless steel and mild steel pipework.
- Use of workshop equipment including guillotine, pressbrake, bandsaw, powered rolls and lathe.
- Understanding of Piping and Instrumentation Diagrams and fabrication of pipework following drawings.
- Using 2 and 3D drawings to fabricate and weld to close tolerances.
- Experience in fabrication of structural platforms to BS EN1090-2.

- A salary of up to £20.00 per hour depending on experience, weekday overtime paid at 1.25x, Saturday 1.5x, Sunday 2x.
