About us

Having grown sales and profit significantly in 2020/21 which is now flattening back out, we’re looking for an experienced Management Accountant to analyse the numbers and drive efficiency & profit. We’ve just opened an award winning, innovative rural Drive Through with further development on the horizon at the current site and an Option on a second site currently being negotiated.

The intention is for this new hire to sharpen our commercial acumen in order to lead us competently through the next growth stage and beyond. We anticipate the role being two to three days a week, but we are also happy to look at a FT role for that exceptional candidate.

This is an exciting opportunity for the right person to take our business to the next level in collaboration with the MD and the external Finance Director.

Jolly Nice is a well-respected and quirky Farmshop and unique and innovative Drive Through takeaway. We’re open from 8am -7pm 364 days a year, with a production kitchen on our farm and a butchery, farmshop, florist, kitchen and drive-through on-site. Jolly Nice has created a thriving community and unique atmosphere in a previously derelict petrol station between Cirencester and Stroud, winning 'Best Rural Retailer’ at the Rural Business Awards in 2019 and Best Rural Innovation in 2021.

We have just finished the Drive Through, and are planning a 400 sq m Farmshop for which we have planning consent. We will convert the existing farm shop complex into a plant centre over the next few years.

The main purpose of Role is to reduce costs and increase profits by:

  • Tightly managing costs
  • Seeking out every little efficiency possible and implementing practices to make them stick
  • Being really proactive in managing the Heads of Department to implement day to day practices which result in increased basket spend
  • Collaborating with the new ‘People Manager’ to make and keep the customer experience second to none
  • Taking ownership of the financial accounts, payroll, ledgers
  • Being responsible for budget creation and supporting the retail operations to make sure targets are met
  • Being part of the senior leadership team, providing facts and data to back up decision making
  • Managing Epos to ensure the correct margins are maintained
  • Making sure processes are followed in purchase to pay
  • Managing new project costs and ensuring they are delivered on budget
  • Reporting directly to our MD, you will be instrumental to the next phase of the business

You will be:

  • A results-orientated professional, capable of significantly increasing business performance and formulating and implementing business decisions.
  • Minimum AAT qualified, CIMA or ACCA desirable
  • Minimum 5 years’ experience in similar role
