Statutory Reporting Accountant - £35-40k DOE

Virgate provides a Finance Team service to multiple SME clients in the retail & hospitality sectors and are currently looking for an enthusiastic and methodical Statutory Reporting Accountant to join the Compliance Team.


  • Prepare and review annual statutory accounts for Limited companies (including consolidated accounts and LLPs)
  • Prepare and review corporation tax returns
  • Prepare and review director self-assessment tax returns
  • Check & process Companies House Confirmation Statements
  • Various other submissions and liaison with HMRC & Companies House as required
  • Adhoc advice to team members and clients, including advice on and supporting the implementation of changes in accounting standards that affect the clients, and advising on any technical accounting matters which arise.


  • ACCA/ACA Qualified
  • Excellent understanding of International Reporting Financial Standards and an appreciation of UK GAAP
  • At least 2 years’ experience in a similar role
  • Knowledge of Xero desirable but not essential
  • Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office suite


  • Experience of producing statutory accounts & corporation tax returns
  • Experience in producing consolidated financial results
  • Excellent attention to detail and a methodical way of working.
  • Strong time management and organisational skills, with the ability to work to deadlines.
  • Adaptive and able to learn quickly, with an interest in new technology.
  • Excellent communication skills and confidence to interact with clients.
