Accounts Assistant

Gloucestershire

Reporting to – Finance Director

Role & Responsibilities

We are currently recruiting an immediately available hands on, exceptional all round accounts assistant. Working from our small head office team located in Staunton, managing three operating companies providing children’s residential services and special needs schooling in Gloucestershire you will be joining at an exciting period of growth.

This new role requires someone who is driven, organised, methodical, pro-active with good financial skills, communication and problem solving skills.

Financial and admin duties including

• Payroll
     o checking of timesheets to rota patterns and employee worked hours
     o processing of payroll
     o managing pension + auto enrolment
     o payroll year end

• Accounting
     o purchase ledger, processing and payment of invoices
     o sales invoicing, processing of monthly invoices
     o credit control (business to business)
     o reconciliations (bank + nominal control accounts)
     o reporting (occupancy, staff + placement lists)
     o overseeing a record of spend for direct expenses (food & household, activity, pocket money and clothing)
     o financial control of cash held at units
     o requesting non budgeted authorisation of spend on behalf of units

• Fixed Assets
     o maintaining weekly maintenance log
     o vehicle list and cost tracker – liaising with Unit Managers re repair costs

• Central procurement

• Induction of staff training for Finance and Payroll

• Any other ad hoc support as required

Other desirable skills

• Flexible with a positive attitude.
• Able to take responsibility for completion of tasks
• Attention to detail
• Intermediate Excel (pivots, lookups, etc)
• Multi company experience advantageous

We use cloud based SAGE 50 Accounts and SAGE Payroll with all reporting performed in Excel.

Based in head office but role will require visits to the care homes and schools.

Salary £28,000 plus benefits including 31 days holiday, and sick pay scheme after a qualifying period.

We welcome part qualified accountants or those with solid relevant experience and abilities.
