Job Type: Support

Sustainability Coordinator

0.6 FTE, 22.2 hours per week

Based at Park Campus, Cheltenham

The University of Gloucestershire has a long-standing high-level corporate commitment to sustainability and an outstanding reputation for pioneering the ‘whole institution’ approach to sustainability development.

Sustainability is an integral pillar of the University’s Strategic Plan 2017-2022 and has been a core value of the institution since 2010. The University currently ranks as the number 1 most sustainable university in the UK (2019 People and Planet league table of all UK universities).

You will be joining the team at an exciting moment as we develop our 3rd Sustainability Strategy and enter a period of ambitious growth for the University. This post offers the opportunity for you to develop your skills in a range of areas as the role develops through this next strategy period.

We are looking for someone creative and flexible, who can develop ideas and support activities with all our stakeholders, from students and staff to partners in our region and worldwide. You’ll also be a highly organised professional and efficient administrator, who can work across the diverse activities of the team and ensure our overall service operates at its best.

You will be joining a small and dynamic team that works closely with people at many levels to encourage change and innovation in sustainability, as part of a vibrant university community that is focused on the success of its students and its wider contribution to the world.

The team is keen to encourage greater diversity with respect to protected characteristics and particularly welcomes applicants from these backgrounds.

Closing Date:  Monday 5th July 2021

Interview Date:  Monday 19th July 2021

The University understands the benefits of recruiting a diverse range of people and we select the best possible on merit alone.  We welcome applications from under-represented sections of the community.

We are proud to be a Disability Confident Leader, guaranteeing to offer an interview to anyone who meets the definition of disability set out in the Equality Act 2010 and who meets all of the essential criteria contained within the person specification.
