Parish Clerk

Maisemore

Maisemore Parish Council is seeking to appoint a Parish Clerk/Responsible Financial Officer. This is an exciting opportunity in a growing village community.

This is a part-time administrative role for 4 hours per week working generally from home and reporting to the Parish Council, with attendance at meetings every other month at Maisemore Village Hall (usually second Monday evenings), in addition to the Annual Parish Meeting (although meetings are presently being organised remotely on Zoom).

The applicant needs a strong level of personal commitment, professionalism and excellent administrative and communication skills. The applicant needs to be able to work well both on their own, within a team and deal with members of the public.

Expenses would be provided but you would be expected to use your own computer system, albeit storage could be provided in the form of a USB stick or hard disk for file storage. Fluency in Word and Excel is a necessity.

The clerk is responsible for the day to day running of the Parish Council, keeping up to date financial records, attending Parish Council meetings and recording minutes of those meetings, as well as completing relevant actions arising from those minutes. Ideally CILCA qualified although consideration will be given to applicants working towards CILCA qualification.

There will also be the need to deal with issues reported by residents or District/County Councillors. Remuneration is based on NALC recommendations for part-time clerks i.e. LC1 (SCP13- 17) and will be negotiable dependent on qualifications and experience. There is also an element of working from home allowance per month and travel expenses.

Closing date: Thursday, 31 December 2020

Proposed interview date: Interviews will either take place remotely or in Maisemore in January
