Parish Clerk

Minsterworth

6.5 hours per week - to include attendance at a monthly Parish Council meeting (second Monday in the month) at Minsterworth Village Hall and any other additional meetings if required. Currently meetings are being held via Zoom.

Location: Home based

Salary: Pay in accordance to NALC pay scales

Minsterworth Parish Council is inviting applications for the role of Clerk and Responsible Finance Officer. This busy and stimulating part-time role will put you at the heart of a great local community, reporting to the Parish Council Chairman and Councillors. As Responsible Financial Officer (RFO) you will administer all the Council's financial affairs.

The Parish Council is ideally looking to employ a clerk who has or had previous knowledge of local government able to fill a position on a part-time basis.

Candidates should be able to demonstrate the following strengths and essential requirements:

Perform the day-to-day activities necessary to ensure the council is compliant with all statutory requirements, including the preparation of timely agendas, reports, and minutes for all meetings

Computer literate with confident knowledge of MS Office applications in particular Zoom

Maintaining all financial records, payment of invoices, preparing regular reports to council including the Annual Budget and financial returns

Work with partners including other Public Sector bodies

Communicate effectively and proactively with councillors

Excellent written and verbal communication skills working collaboratively with councillors in responding to local issues with a friendly and positive outlook

Engage with the community and communicate the council’s objectives and activities effectively.

Managing the council’s website and social media

Manage specific projects from inception to completion
