An opportunity has arisen for a highly organised, enthusiastic individual to join our growing team. Genus Plant Sourcing was founded in 2002, and supplies top quality plants, trees and bulbs from the wholesale market. Based near Stonehouse, Gloucestershire, we pride ourselves in offering an individual, highly tailored service to our clients.

Job description

As Business Support Assistant, your role will oversee many of the customer facing elements of the operation, as well as the administration that goes on behind the scenes. You will be responsible for supporting the business with the following -

  • answering telephone and email enquiries in a timely manner and passing them onto the relevant people,
  • overseeing customer delivery notes and ensuring this process runs smoothly,
  • updating the businesses social media accounts, including Facebook, Instagram, and LinkedIn,
  • processing plant passports in line with DEFRA guidelines (full training will be given),
  • updating and amending product availability data to ensure customers are always receiving the most up to date information,
  • any other duties reasonably expected of you to ensure the office runs smoothly.

Skills required

The ideal candidate will have previous administrative experience within a busy office environment, and a demonstrable experience within a customer facing role. Experience within the horticultural industry is advantageous but not essential. Previous experience in creating social media content, and an understanding of social media platforms will make you a strong candidate for this role. You will need to be able to prioritise your own workload and manage various different tasks throughout the day. You must have previous experience working with Microsoft packages including Word, Excel and OneDrive.

Person Specifics

We are looking for an individual who can build and maintain good relationships with clients and with a positive ‘can do’ attitude to every aspect of the role. Your telephone manner must be excellent, and you must be a confident communicator.

You must come with a willingness to learn new skills and new software and be dedicated to the ongoing success of Genus.

Start date: May 2021
Hours: circa 35 hours per week. Flexible start/finish times can be discussed at interview.
