Programmes Tutor – F/T Gloucester


A fantastic opportunity has arisen for a dedicated, empathetic and self-motivated person to join our Youth Contracts team as a Programmes Tutor at Prospect Training Services on our Traineeships and Study Programme Contract.

We are looking for a lively, energetic and inspirational tutor to deliver Functional Skills English and Maths to our learners. You, as an experienced and qualified professional Tutor will work with these young people to progress them to achievement of FS English and Maths alongside stimulating vocational qualifications. Your ability to contextualise Functional Skills in a workplace setting will be the key to your success.

You will also deliver employability, ICT and Personal Social Development classes and curriculum to our learners from 16-24 years of age to support their development and workplace skills who are actively looking for placement, employment and training opportunities in line with their career aspirations.

Applicants should as a minimum possess a teaching qualification [L3 CTLLS or above] and hold a Level 2 qualification in English and Mathematics. Having experience of and empathy for working with our young people, you will possess strong written and verbal communication skills and be able to demonstrate accomplished classroom management. Your ability to work as part of a small team and deliver your curriculum and organise your contract administration will set you apart from the rest. You will also deliver Work Skills qualifications to our learners, so an Assessor’s qualification would be desirable but not essential.

Applicants need to use innovative methods to deliver the above subjects to challenging learners making lessons fun and engaging. Delivery to traineeship participants is also planned, so good time management and planning skills are essential.

• Good general level of education (Teaching qualification, ideally hold a Level 2 qualification in Mathematics and English or equivalent)
• Excellent delivery and communication skills
• Good coordination and organisational skills
• Demonstrable track record of student achievement
• Innovative, fast thinking and versatile
• Self-motivated, able to work to performance targets and KPIs
• Excellent time management
• Good general level of ICT skills including Microsoft Office
• Experience of working with E3/L1 range of 16-19 students
• Full, clean driving Licence and own car would be desirable
