We are searching for a highly motivated and passionate individual to join our YMCA Cheltenham team as a Housekeeper.

You will be based at our Supported Housing site at Vittoria Walk in Cheltenham, and as part of the role, some of your time will be allocated for regular and void cleaning across other YMCA sites in Cheltenham. This includes the Sports Centre, Dulverton Court, and possibly St James Smith Row.

You will be part of the housekeeping team and take responsibility for ensuring all residents, tenants and staff experience living and working in quality facilities with exceptional cleanliness and excellent service.

We are looking for a team player who is able to work to a high standard in a timely manner with enthusiasm to pitch in and support colleagues when needed.

Since 2014 we have grown from having one supported housing project of 50 beds to being able to offer more than 250 beds every night, including long-term affordable accommodation, low to high level supported accommodation, and emergency homeless provision.

The role is a  Housekeeper, who will be based at our Vittoria Walk site, and will carry out the cleaning role at a number of YMCA sites in Cheltenham.

This is a new role and it will be an exciting opportunity for the right individual to join the team as new systems and procedures are being implemented.

At every site there will be a supply of cleaning products and equipment available to the Housekeeper.


1. Ensure cleanliness of all flooring and surfaces as required.
2. Ensure cleanliness of toilets/kitchens and washing facilities as required.
3. Clean and prepare void rooms as needed across various sites.
4. Take part in monthly stock control to ensure smooth flow of ordering by management.
5. Ensure cleanliness of staff areas and offices as required.
6. Attend any training courses deemed necessary.


The ideal candidate for the role of  Housekeeper will possess:

• Previous experience of working as a housekeeper.
• Previous experience of working in a team.
• Able to carry out tasks to a high standard.
• Able to carry out tasks in a timely manner.
• Ability to work in a confidential way.
• Ability to manage own workload with minimum supervision.
• Ability to maintain good working relationships across a range of staff levels both internally and externally.
• Your own transport and a full clean driving licence.
• As a member of the Maintenance and Housekeeping team you will be expected to demonstrate the values, initiatives and culture of the organisation.

The post holder will be expected to carry out any other duties which may be reasonably requested by the Head of Property.

The salary of £19,000 per annum is based on full time hours and will be pro-rated for the 15 hours per week.
