Visiting Music Teacher - Jazz Piano (with Classical Piano and/or Songwriting)



Start date: September 2022
Salary: £39.33 per hour, inclusive of holiday pay.

An inspiring and enthusiastic individual is required to join our highly successful and thriving Music department as Visiting Music Teacher – Jazz Piano. We are looking to recruit a Jazz Piano specialist who would also be able to offer some Classical Piano tuition and/or basic Songwriting techniques. The successful candidate will be required to teach a range of pupils aged 11-18 years.

The anticipated initial schedule is up to 10 hours over two days per week, with the possibility of further hours. The successful candidate would be expected to increase awareness and uptake of Jazz Piano and Songwriting within College, working in tandem with relevant full-time staff. 

Our Music Department has around forty full and part-time staff, this comprises seven full-time musicians and over thirty visiting music staff. The Department has an outstanding reputation and is well resourced.

If you have a good degree or diploma in Music, have highly effective teaching skills, the ability to inspire, empower and motivate students to engage with new initiatives with a genuine commitment to putting students first and an enjoyment of working with young people we would welcome your application.
