GRCC Theme Lead - Housing Enabler (County wide)

GRCC is inviting applications from passionate individuals who would relish the opportunity to play a significant part in growing and driving the availability of affordable housing in the county. There is a significant need for affordable housing nationally and in Gloucestershire this is no different. This is an opportunity to build and lead on social and environmental impact at its core.

GRCC has a long history of working with communities supporting them on their current and future housing development needs. Working in partnership with communities, local authorities and Housing Associations the role requires you to:
• create and follow up new leads for Affordable Housing using data analysis to establish market need;
• work with communities to help them develop their own plans for affordable housing;
• broker relationships with registered providers, local authorities and communities;
• facilitate the Gloucestershire Rural Housing Partnership

It may be that you wish to have a role which enables you to be flexible, developing your own knowledge of the ‘wider housing, planning or community development’ picture. If this is the case we want to hear from you.

Our ideal candidate - You will need to be a confident ‘go-getter’ comfortable giving presentations, facilitating workshops and community based consultation events. You will have bags of energy, and a resolute determination to overcome obstacles in a field of work which can sometimes invite opposition.

A real passion for social and environmental impact is a must.

We are keen to hear from those of you who may already have:

• an understanding of the different methods for delivering and funding affordable housing;
• some knowledge of community led housing;
• awareness of local, regional and national housing policy; and/or
• experience in a community development, planning, or housing-related field

Equally we are also keen to hear from those of you who are starting out on your journey of learning about community led development and can demonstrate a passion, commitment and thirst for knowledge regarding the delivery of affordable housing.

GRCC itself is a charitable company with a 100 year history and an exciting future. We are an organisation with an appetite for change – both around us, and within our team – and we are looking for colleagues with that can-do attitude to play an active role in that journey. We welcome applications from across the breadth of communities we strive to support, and aspire to diversity in our team – including of ethnic background, religion or belief systems, sex, sexuality or gender identity - as a source of strength.
