Holiday Supporter - Temporary for Christmas and/or Summer

Cirencester

We are a holiday company providing supported holidays for adults with learning disabilities in the UK and worldwide. 

We are looking for people to help support on our holidays to ensure our clients have a good fun time. 

We are particularly looking for people to help this Christmas, then if they enjoy it we can offer further holidays in 2022.

 

Title: Holiday Supporter

Accountable to: The Directors
Reporting to: The Holiday Leaders
Contract salary depending on holiday

Job purpose: To assist in the day to day activities of the holiday and to maintain high standards of support and other services toward holiday clients, relatives and other Supporters.  Supporters are available to clients at all times on the holiday (emergency only during sleeping times).

To deliver support to holiday clients as directed by the Assessment of Needs form for that individual - reporting changes or concerns to the Holiday Leader.  Assist with packing and unpacking, write postcards ensuring they are posted, gift buying if required.

Key Tasks to include

  • Review Assessment of needs forms prior to the holiday
  • Offer support to clients to undertake their personal care supporting them where necessary as directed in the Assessment of Needs form.
  • Offer to help with choice for clothes if deemed appropriate.
  • Be vigilant to assist if required due to unfamiliar environment and report to Holiday Leader
  • Participate in social activities directed at benefiting holiday client’s quality of holiday if they wish.
  • Promote independence and dignity of holiday clients.
  • Report all complaints, accidents and incidents to the Holiday Leader.
  • Maintain confidential information at all times, ensure that you are aware of the needs of the clients you are delegated to support.
  • Ensure you are aware of the needs of all the clients on the holiday (for example epilepsy, diabetic etc).
  • Ensure holiday clients attend activities at the required time with the appropriate dress and equipment necessary.
  • Ensure you are ready on time with the appropriate dress and equipment to undertake the day’s or evening activity.
  • Attend meals as appropriate and support as needed insuring all dietary requirements are met if required.
  • Talk, listen and socialise with clients.
  • Promote independence.

Other Duties
Ensure that fire safety precautions are observed and acquaint yourself with fire exits etc.  Be aware or familiar with health and safety legislations.

In addition to the above, management may request supporters to undertake specific duties as and when requested.  This job description is not fixed and may be subject to changes and amendments as required by management.
