Commercial Vehicle Insurance Sales and Renewals Handler (part-time)

Based in Cheltenham town centre, M R Ratcliffe Consultants Limited is a specialist insurance broker focusing on the transport industry and is now one of the UK’s largest independent operators, advising and arranging many different types of insurance cover.
An opportunity has arisen for an experienced Commercial Vehicle Insurance Handler to join our sales team. The purpose of this role is to obtain new business and renewal terms for clients based on their requirements.
This role may suit an experienced insurance handler who is nearing the end of their career and looking for part-time working.
Key tasks include:
- To calculate premiums and make underwriting decisions
- To negotiate new business and renewal terms with insurers and clients
- To liaise effectively with clients and insurance companies
Candidates should possess the following essential skills:
- A level of understanding and working knowledge of commercial insurance policies including but not limited to Commercial Vehicle, Fleet, Employers and Public Liability, Goods In Transit and Commercial Combined
- A good working knowledge of Microsoft Outlook, Excel, Word
- Experience working in a similar role
- A clear, confident telephone manner and the ability to be accurate and precise whilst working under pressure and meeting deadlines
- A friendly and approachable personality with the ability to adapt to client requirements with patience and understanding
Holiday: 31 days per annum including Bank Holidays, plus service entitlement, pro rata
Pension/Death in Service Benefit: After qualifying period
