Level 3 Vehicle Technician & MOT Tester

The Role of a Vehicle Technician

In this role, you’ll join our Workshop team, reporting to the Workshop Controller. You will be responsible for carrying out diagnostics, services, repairs and vehicle inspections of fleet vehicles whilst working within KPI’s and service agreements. In addition to this, you will also carry out MOT tests.

Main purpose of the job

  • Using a range of diagnostic equipment to perform diagnostic testing and identify faults
  • Having the ability to draw upon past experience to troubleshoot current issues
  • Conducting servicing and repairs to many different types of vehicles
  • Comprehensive understanding of different warranty systems
  • Ensuring all relevant paperwork is completed accurately and on-time
  • Following assignments through to completion, meets deadlines and deliver on promises

Key Skills, Experience, Industry-specific Requirements, Qualifications and Desired Behaviours:

In order to be successful, you’ll be level 3 qualified (i.e. City & Guilds) and have practical experience at this level for at least 3 years. It's important to mention that you will need a full UK drivers licence and due to insurance purposes, have over 5 years driving experience. This role will see you working outdoors in all weathers. You will need to hold a current MOT test license.

You must:

  • Have knowledge of all types of vehicles
  • Have relevant qualifications and/or a minimum of three years’ experience in a similar role
  • Hold a curent MOT tester License
  • Have excellent communication skills
  • Demonstrate a commitment to continued learning by participating in on-going training and any other industry related training requirements
  • Be able to meet targets and deadlines
  • Have the ability to work effectively in a fast paced and demanding environment
  • Be able to work as part of a team
  • Comply with Health and Safety requirements and legislation
  • Maintain a positive working relationship with all members of staff


  • 45 hours per week, Monday to Friday, 7am-4pm
