Gloucester based Solicitors require a Legal Cashier on a locum/part-time basis.

An opportunity has arisen for a Legal Cashier to join our successful practice with an immediate start on an on-going part-time basis working 2 days per week with flexibility to cover holiday/sick leave.


  • Daily Management of Accounts
  • Banking for Client and Firm’s Accounts
  • Posting Client and Office receipts, payment and internal transfers
  • Daily Bank reconciliations and Month End Reports
  • Daily on-line banking
  • Compliance with SRA and AML Rules
  • Dealing with conveyancing completions
  • Processing Purchase Ledger and Land Registry payments
  • Liaising with Banks regarding incoming Client funds and Bank Transfers
  • Petty Cash
  • VAT
  • Payroll
  • Company Pension Scheme
  • Legal Aid payments
  • Dealing with queries from partners and support staff
  • General Office administration

The Candidate

Applicants must have:

  • Previous experience working as a Legal Cashier
  • Knowledge of Solicitors Accounts Rules
  • Experience of double entry bookkeeping
  • Able to work under pressure
  • Accuracy, attention to detail, organisational and numeracy skills

Overall, Applicants should have attributes in adaptability, initiative, flexibility and a practical approach.
