Employment Status:  Permanent, Full or Part time

BookCheck is very special - we are the UK market leader in the provision of quality book-keeping with management accounts, majoring in Xero, helping clients migrate and choose transformational add-ons.

This is a great opportunity to work with a mixture of clients, whilst working from home, visiting clients occasionally and optionally.

BookCheck started in 1994 and is very settled and successful.We work closely and happily as a team of 60. The successful candidate will have great scope for developing their knowledge and skill as our nine qualified accountants will be checking your clients’ month ends and feeding back comments. There is no better learning environment.

We are looking for someone who can hit the ground running, has in depth bookkeeping knowledge & skills and would consider themselves a people person.

You will be working with new and existing BookCheck clients, responsible for developing and managing key relationships and settling them with any new processes. This role involves unravelling problems with the accounts we inherit. Once a new client is settled, you will move the day-to-day work to a bookkeeper, ready to take on another new client. You will remain supervisor on some major clients and with others you have passed onto bookkeepers you will occasionally provide holiday/sickness cover and support when help is needed. Also, a great way of developing your skills as all work is thoroughly checked by a qualified accountant every month. So, you can see any adjustments made and understand the reasons.

This position could also suit a retired or semi-retired accountant.

Requirements:
Skills:

• Excellent Xero skill– essential
• Excellent Sage skill – desirable
• Bookkeeping skill – 5 years minimum
• Experience of working with a variety of different clients - desirable
• Previous supervisory experience - desirable
• Good Excel skill – desirable but can be learned
• Proficient use of Microsoft Office
• Excellent written and spoken English

• Diplomatic, discreet, polite and patient
• Punctual and reliable
• Flexible
• Self-motivated, professional and adaptable as you will be expected to work independently from home, as well as part of a team
• Good organisational and communication skills are a must
