Office / Accounts Administrator

Tewkesbury

Experienced office / accounts administrator required for our busy office. This is a varied and computer-based role, requiring excellent organisational and communication skills and a good understanding of Microsoft Excel and Word. You will be responsible for communicating accurate information to the Accounts & Sales Department at month end and when required.

The ability to prioritise tasks and maintain a flexible approach is vital. Previous experience of office administration work, invoicing, bookkeeping is essential. Experience and/or knowledge of Xero software is preferable, although training can be provided for this.

The administrator is first and foremost responsible to the Accounts Supervisor and they will also assist the Managing Director with a variety of ongoing tasks such as order monitoring, ordering supplies for the business and answering the phones

Main Responsibilities Include:

  • General administration duties that are associated with the day to day running of a busy office, these include – Filing and archiving, purchasing stationery, diary management for the director and maintain on site health & safety procedures.
  • Assisting the accounts team with sales & purchase ledger duties. (invoice verification and inputting when required)
  • Answering inbound telephone calls and directing to the appropriate team member.
  • Purchase admin duties include placing purchase orders, liaising with suppliers to ensure leads times are met, accurate record keeping of inbound deliveries.
  • Sales admin duties include quotation follow ups, providing tracking information to customers when requested.

Applicants must have strong communication skills and have a warm & friendly personality as the successful applicant will be answering phones and dealing with customers and suppliers on a daily basis.

ABOUT YOU:

  • Experience in administration/bookkeeping role is essential
  • A good telephone manner and friendly personality
  • Ability to meet deadlines that are set by the manager/accounts department/Director
  • Good knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel
  • Knowledge of Xero is desirable although training will be provided
  • Excellent organisational skills

Job Types: Full-Time, Part-time, Permanent

Salary: £18,000 - £20,000 PA (Pro Rata for Part Time Hours) DOE

Schedule:

  • Full Time - Monday to Friday 09.00-17.00
  • Part Time - Monday to Friday 09.00-15.00

Experience:

  1. Administrative: 1 year (required)
  2. bookkeeping: 1 year (required)
