SGS College have an exciting opportunity for a Projects & Business Development Manager.

The Projects & Business Development Manager will be responsible for ensuring SGS maximises income from government and non-mainstream funding streams by composing compelling tenders and managing projects from inception, to implementation, increasing earnings from successful bids.

The ability to work with all levels of staff both internally and externally is crucial, as is being a self starter with an attention to detail and a drive to exceed targets.

Key Tasks and Responsibilities

To manage new business opportunities that will be beneficial to the college and complement the vision and strategic objectives of SGS
To promote bidding opportunities to Heads of Faculty, encouraging innovative skills solutions to be developed
To collate responses and support writing bids to effectively meet the requirements of the tender including meeting deadlines set
To advise on and support the writing of Capital Project Applications
To advise Heads of Faculty, Learning Area Managers, Exec, SLT, Assistant Principals, Vice Principal and the Principal of the requirements for the delivery of funding projects including ensuring that we meet any audit requirements to evidence the ‘Use of Funds’
To be the main contact between the college and the prime contractor for partnerships bids
To manage subcontractors for bids where the college is the lead contractor
Administer, report and provide returns on outputs and evidence requirements for ESF projects including Workforce for the Future, Stroud Growth Hub and any future ESF projects in which the college is engaged.

Beneficial Skills & Qualifications

Good knowledge of funding and its requirements
Extensive experience of performance management of delivery organisations
Budgetary Management of £1million contracts
Good business writing skills
Strong project management skills
Strong interpersonal skills, able to build strong relationships both internal and external to SGS
