Reports to: CEO of Bridge Builders Mentoring

Based: Cheltenham (mostly working at home with team meetings in Cheltenham and some limited UK travel)

Hours of work: Part Time (15 hours – flexible on days)

Bridge Builders Mentoring works to help young people from disadvantaged socio-economic backgrounds achieve their full potential. We work with schools and other youth organisations to provide mentoring programmes, skills workshops, work experience and public speakers. Our vision is to narrow the attainment gap and help prepare youngsters for the world of work.

You will be providing administrative support across a range of areas as Bridge Builders expands its mentoring projects within schools.

This role requires excellent organisational skills, a confident manner and keen attention to detail. You will be working as part of a small, busy team where flexibility and teamwork are high priorities.  This role would suit someone with excellent written and verbal English, a friendly and approachable manner, and familiarity with PC applications such as Outlook, Word and Excel. You should be able to seek out opportunities and undertake projects on your own initiative and be able to prioritise your workload.

You will be familiar with working in environments that are demanding and output focussed, whilst recognising the importance of strong working relationships and being discreet. Trust is important to us. You will be both competent and of impeccable character. You are likely to be more introverted than extroverted, unphased by working alone, structured and reliable. You will have a great eye for detail and be comfortable working with IT.

Duties to include:

  • School liaison and coordination
  • Liaising with mentors, trainers and schools to arrange sessions
  • Inputting data
  • Updating school databases
  • Managing on-line training sessions (training provided)
  • Mentor screening and training duties (training provided)
  • Diary management
  • Managing DBS compliance checks (training provided)
  • The role may involve some limited travel.

We will ask you to complete a psychometric questionnaire prior to interview.  We will also want to speak with your two most recent employers for a character reference if we want to make an offer.

To apply, please email your CV and a cover letter to  Clive Lewis, CEO of Bridge Builders Mentoring by clicking on Apply Now. Please also give an idea of your salary expectations and list your academic qualifications with your application.

We anticipate a large response and will only contact you if we want to pursue your application.

Immediate start.  Closing date for applications Thursday 16 December 2021. However, we reserve the right to close this advertisement early if we receive a high volume of suitable applications.
