Project Co-ordinator - Part-time

Self-Employed 18 Month Contract

IT Schools Africa is based in Leckhampton, Cheltenham, a UK Registered Charity with a mission to transform IT Education in Africa.  We have been delivering technology, digital access and skills to those who need it most in Africa and the UK for over 16 years.  IT Schools Africa’s mission is to transform lives through access to and improved use of digital technology.

We are looking for a Project Co-ordinator with excellent organisational and interpersonal skills to co-ordinate our DigiBus Gloucestershire project.  DigiBus Gloucestershire is IT Schools Africa’s new and innovative project to support and connect digitally excluded communities in Gloucestershire who have been made more vulnerable since the Covid-19 pandemic began.

The role is home-based with occasional requirement to travel to meetings and the DigiBus when it’s on the road (within Gloucestershire).  The role is flexible, but availability is required Monday to Saturday.  We’re seeking someone with experience co-ordinating large scale projects; who is confident liaising with the public and multiple external partners, maintaining records and ensuring the day to day smooth running of the project.

The main objectives of the role are to:
 Manage the bus conversion, acting as the pointy of contact for building, electrical, power management and networking teams
 Maintain the bookings calendar and timetable
 Act as point of contact for host venues
 Assist with driver and volunteer recruitment
 Run the social media accounts and produce marketing materials to promote the DigiBus
 Ensure the DigiBus is maintained and roadworthy
 Ensure current Government and NHS guidance and restrictions around Covid-19 are implemented and adhered to

The skills and experience we are seeking are:
 Working within the ethos of IT Schools Africa with high standards of practice
 Organisational skills and knowledge of the voluntary and community sector in Gloucestershire
 A mature and flexible approach

Start date: 1st June 2021
