Community Shed Facilitator

Gloucester

ACCOUNTABLE TO Well-being Team

LINE MANAGED BY GL Communities – lead
LOCATION Primarily based at the Phoenix Centre
EXPENSES Reasonable travel expenses if required

Responsibilities:

To work with local people to engage in the work in the community shed
To be able to engage and enthuse people to be involved and use the facility
To support people in the community shed on projects collectively and singularly
To ensure that H&S is a priority
To support people to learn how to use the machinery
Complete a monthly H&S assessment as required under the H&S policy of GL Communities

Job Specification:

Certificate of proof of being educated in how to use woodworking machinery safely
Experience in working with and training others in woodworking skills
Require a DBS
Training and Qualification: Qualification equal to a NVQ level 3 and/or Experience of working in communities.
Experience of working in this field – asset based approach desirable
Good qualification including Maths and English above Basic Skills – desirable
Project leadership – desirable
Skills in Coaching/Mentoring – desirable
Ability to engage and have effective communication skills – essential
IT skills – desirable
