Full time (40 hours) Senior Early Years Practitioner


We are currently seeking a Full time (40 hours) Senior Early Years Practitioner to work in our small family run nursery with our Jelly Babies (0-1years) and Jelly Tots (1-2years). This new role is predominantly based in our Jelly Babies room with the 0-1 children with overall responsibility for the 0-2 floor reporting directly to the management team.

We are looking for an enthusiastic, energetic and dedicated individual to take advantage of this challenging and exciting opportunity.

The successful candidate will have to demonstrate a genuine passion for providing the highest standards in quality childcare - strong communication skills and team-working abilities are essential.

The successful candidate must have a good understanding of:

  • Children’s development needs and interests
  • The importance of supporting children’s transitions
  • The importance of maintaining professionalism and confidentiality
  • The importance of supporting your team's personal and professional development
  • The need to help children respect people of different race, ability, gender, religion and culture
  • The importance of procedures to follow regarding Safeguarding children

Qualifications & Training:

Minimum NVQ Level 3 or equivalent; Senco and Paediatric First Aid training would be desirable


Minimum 4 years childcare experience with previous supervisory experience a real advantage.

You must:

  • Have a working knowledge of the Early Years Foundation Stage
  • Have experience of Planning, observation & assessment
  • Be able to work well within a team
  • Be organised, committed, friendly and approachable.

Jelly Bears Day Nursery, opened in April 2018 and is a small, family run day nursery with an excellent local reputation.
