Technical Analyst

Gloucester

Pro currently has an exciting opportunity for a Technical Analyst with Insurance and Lloyds Market experience to join our Technical Accounting team. The job holder will be responsible for meeting all Client service levels, deliverables and deadlines for analysis, investigation, collection/settlement and allocation of outstanding items.


Pro operates a hybrid working model, with time split between working from home and from our Gloucester and/or London office as required.

 

Job Description and Responsibilities:


• Premium and Claims ledger “forensic” analysis and resolution of technical queries to enable allocation of cash to ledger/technical items
• Analysis of policies where cash/technical discrepancies are identified to determine root causes and make recommendations for correction and ongoing process improvements
• Investigation and resolution of challenging accounts; identifying and following up issues, missing accounts or miscalculations with Client, Xchanging, brokers or cedants
• Claims and premium technical reconciliation of processed bordereau comparing paid to date and reserve amounts held on client system
• Resolution of queries from Clients, Brokers, Finance and Xchanging
• Provide all credit control and ledger/cash functions for allocated accounts
• Analyse outstanding item data to identify collection targets and potential bad debt
• Raise payment requisitions in Client payment systems, adhering to all Client procedures
• Maintain Client Procedure Manuals
• Other ad-hoc projects to assist the credit control manager and technical analysts

 

Competencies:


• Experience gained in a similar role or project within the (re)insurance market
• Understanding of principles of insurance and reinsurance is essential
• Understanding of IBA functions and cash application is essential
• Must be able to read and understand slips and endorsements
• Strong technical premium knowledge desirable
• Experience of London Market procedures and role of brokers and MGAs
• Working knowledge of Xchanging systems and processes
• Experience resolving legacy accounts and complex technical reconciliations
• Strong Microsoft Excel skills
• Ability to prioritise workload to meet deadlines
• Organised and accurate individual who shows attention to detail
• Strong communication skills, both written and oral
• Reliable team player who can also work using their own initiative
• Conscientious, positive and enthusiastic approach to work, establishing good working relationships with Clients and colleagues.
