Total Loss Negotiator
£17,500 - 37.5 hours per week


We are currently looking to recruit Total Loss Negotiators to join one of the UK’s leading Insurance providers.

Are you a strong communicator, passionate about providing high-standard customer service? Then this is the right job for you!

Working as part of the Total Loss department you will act as the first point of contact for policy holders who are looking to negotiate the settlement of their claims.

The successful candidate will deal with the claims’ settlement over the phone or via e-mail and show excellent customer care at the same time.

Organisational and time-management skills are a must as you will be responsible for managing your own allocated number of claims in an accurate, economic and time-efficient manner whilst keeping all the data on the system updated.


The main duties of the Total Loss Negotiator are:
• Dealing with customers’ claims whilst making sure that their requirements and expectations are fully understood.
• Protecting claims cost by providing guidance and influencing the customers’ decisions.
• Liaising between internal and external parties effectively to meet a high standard of customer service and follow the departmental objectives at the same time.
• Meeting the company’s standards, procedures and compliance throughout the full claims’ handling process.
• Adhering to correct policy cover, legal liability, and department, fraud and FCA guidelines.
• Following the Claims Guiding Principles to ensure maximum quality of service.
• Ensuring the accuracy of reserves, diary and recovery fields.

Requirements to become a Total Loss Negotiator: 
• Excellent communication skills adapting to all contacts ranging from the general public through to lawyers.
• Previous experience in negotiations would be beneficial but not essential.
• Ability to demonstrate a high standard of customer service.
• A positive attitude and flexibility to adapt to any situation.
• Ability to work on your own and as a team.
• Strong organisational and time-management skills.
• Sufficient IT knowledge
• Minimum C Grade in Maths and English - or equivalent
