Communications Manager - Part-time 0.6 FTE, Maternity cover

We have an exciting opportunity for an experienced Communications Manager, to join us on a part-time basis, for up to 12-months covering Maternity Leave, to ensure effective engagement with the HESA Graduate Outcomes survey, working to promote awareness to graduates responding to the survey, and collaborate with HE providers to run the survey. This will focus on executing a comprehensive communications and engagement plan that supports the objectives of the Graduate Outcomes survey.

Responsibilities/Duties as Communications Manager:

  • Execution and ongoing refinement of the communications plan for Graduate Outcomes to raise awareness of the programme and ultimately increase response rates to the survey.
  • Lead the development of a range of content, working closely with the Graduate Outcomes team, in support of survey needs.
  • Plan, deliver, evaluate, and optimise direct marketing channels to ensure a high response level to online survey invitation.
  • Managing the Graduate Outcomes website, with responsibility for content creation and ensuring data protection compliance.
  • Managing the Graduate Outcomes brand across all activity, including local marketing items for higher education providers, social media and system generated activity.
  • Providing communications support to the Graduate Outcomes programme, both internally and externally.

This role will report to the Head of Corporate Communications but plays a key role on the Graduate Outcomes Project Team, led by the Head of Research & Insight.

You will have at least 5 years’ experience in a communications field, knowledge of direct marketing and social media management and be proficient at using content management systems and online email platforms. You will be able to demonstrate extensive experience of working on a variety of marketing campaigns from inception to completion. A confident and dynamic personality with articulate and professional skills and a strong creative outlook are essential.

Experience in the higher education sector and knowledge of sector issues and knowledge and understanding of survey promotion and increasing response rates are highly desirable as is a proven track-record of delivering effective marketing strategies.

Salary: £36,001k - £42,000k (pro-rata) dependant on skills and experience
