Picture Framing Assistant


Gloucester Framing is a small busy picture framing shop located in Gloucester. We offer a fully bespoke fine art and commercial framing service for the home, office, shops and galleries. We specialise in creating beautiful handmade frames for photos, prints, original art, needlework, medals, canvas stretching, papyrus, and sports shirts.

We are looking for a framing assistant to join our friendly team. You will be an enthusiastic and conscientious individual with a can-do approach, able to perform a range of tasks within this varied and interesting role. Tasks will include customer facing duties, fulfilment of orders and back office admin.

Key Skills Required:

• Have a keen eye for detail and colour
• Excellent planning and organisation skills
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Excellent customer service skills
• Excellent time management skills and the ability to work efficiently and effectively under pressure
• Ability to work on own initiative
• A willingness to 'go the extra mile'
• Be a quick learner (we do not require previous framing experience, training will be provided)
• Be comfortable working effectively both alone and in a team
• An interest in/knowledge of photography, would be desirable


• Responding to clients in-person, email and telephone requests
• Helping customers identify complimentary frames and/or mounts by providing advice on suitable options available
• Office administration
• Organising framing deliveries
• Tracking and recording work/stock

Full training will be given in all aspects of picture framing with opportunities possible in our upcoming photo studio.

Working hours: 10.00 till 18.00 Weekdays, 10.00 till 16.00 on alternate Saturdays. (shifts to be agreed).

Salary: National Minimum Wage /National Living Wage to start, rising to £10 per hour on reaching pre-agreed targets
