Finance Assistant/Assistant Credit Controller - Open to School Leavers

Hardwicke, Gloucester

Warwick Fabrics UK are creators and suppliers of exclusive fabrics to furniture manufacturers and interior designers in the UK and abroad.  We are a growing business with over 30 years in the industry.

The role

Reporting directly to the Credit Controller and Finance Manager, you will be responsible for the management of our domestic &export customer accounts whilst coordinating with internal departments such as purchasing, sales and distribution.  
Although the role is predominately credit control, there will be times when your assistance will be required on purchase ledger and other tasks within the accounts team.

Key tasks include

• Daily invoice generation
• Processing and allocating customer payments
• Distribution of monthly statements and overdue letters
• Communicate directly with customers via telephone, email and post to ensure payment is received to terms
• Customer account reviews and credit checks
• Deal with internal & external queries
• Process/generate credit notes whilst maintaining accurate records of all claim activity
• Work closely with all other departments to ensure the smooth running of the business
• Any other tasks given to you by the management team

Candidate requirements

• Credit control experience preferable but not essential as full training will be given
• Excellent spoken and written communication skills
• Good numeracy skills
• Good Microsoft Office skills – Outlook, Excel and Word
• A professional, pro-active and can-do attitude – someone who is willing to go the extra mile to “make it happen”
• A quick learner, able to problem solve and take ownership comfortably
• Honest and reliable with great attention to detail
• The ability to stay calm and work well under pressure


• Competitive salary dependent on experience
• Full time - 38.75 hours per week, Monday – Friday 08:45 – 17:00
• 23 days holiday plus bank holidays
• Potential to study for AAT qualification
