Housing Options Assistant - 625
Cheltenham
This is a great opportunity to take your first steps or progress your knowledge in housing.
You will be part of a friendly team, committed to providing a high quality customer focussed service, in a supportive work environment.
Although your primary responsibility will be the assessment, verification, and registration of housing applications in line with homeseekerplus policy, you will also provide administrative support to colleagues, including record keeping and processing of financial orders and invoices. You will often be the first point of contact for customers and will work to triage calls and give advice and information.
This is a diverse and challenging role, you could be assisting with housing applicant enquiries, assessing applications, processing invoices amongst a multitude of other tasks.
You will be busy, often working under pressure and to deadlines, but you will ultimately know that you will be making a difference, and helping to improve the lives of applicants. You will be skilled at prioritising tasks, show a great team ethic, and use Microsoft packages as well as the Locata housing applicant and homelessness system.
Currently you would report to Paul Tuckey, Housing Options Manager, working alongside another Housing Options Assistant. The rest of the team team is made up of a Housing Options Team Leader, four Housing Option’s Officers, two Housing Interventions Officers (and an additional Domestic Abuse Interventions Officer), Benefit and Money Advice Officer, and a Housing Solutions Officer.
The role is likely to involve agile working, but some office presence is likely to be necessary.
The main key skills to be successful in the role are;
• Excellent communication
• Great organisational skills, ability to organise own workload
• Quick learner and ability to use own initiative
• Good experience and ability to use Microsoft software
• Can do attitude, solution focussed, and innovative problem solver
