Thursday Evening Scoot & Skate Volunteer

Cheltenham

About The Opportunity

Scoot And Skate (SAS) runs on Thursday evenings during term-time from 6pm-7.30pm. The Rock sports hall is transformed into Cheltenham’s only indoor skate park with our mobile skate ramps.

Sessions are open to all young people in school years 6 - 11( age 10-16). Volunteers are needed to support young people and The Rock team. You don’t need experience of skating or scooting. Full training will be provided.

We welcome volunteers from all ages and backgrounds, however the minimum age for this role is 18. DBS checks are carried out, however a criminal record will not necessarily bar you from volunteering. All volunteers receive induction training including Safeguarding as well as further training opportunities in Food Hygiene and First Aid. Our experienced Youth Workers are on hand to offer advice and support.

As a volunteer you will gain and develop new skills, receive ongoing training, meet new people and have fun!!

About The Rock

The Rock is a safe space for young people to develop their spiritual, emotional and physical wellbeing.

We live out practical Christian love for all young people, regardless of faith or background, through challenging activities from urban street sports to essential life skills.

During school hours, we work with young people who have been or are at risk of being - excluded from mainstream education. In the evenings our doors are open to all young people who want somewhere safe to hang out, to play sports, or to learn new skills.
