Executive Assistant to the Head

Executive Assistant to the Head

Cheltenham

Cheltenham College is one of the UK’s leading co-educational independent schools, comprising College (13–18) and Cheltenham College Prep School (3–13). With over 1,100 pupils across two closely connected schools, we are proud of our excellent academic reputation, vibrant co-curricular programme, and strong sense of community.

For a March/April 2026 start, we are seeking an outstanding Executive Assistant to the Head. This is a pivotal, board-level-support role that underpins the effective leadership and governance of the College. The role provides an exceptional opportunity for a highly organised, discreet, and proactive professional who thrives in a fast-paced environment and enjoys work that is varied, impactful, and people-focused.

As Executive Assistant to the Head, you will provide high-level strategic and administrative support, ensure the smooth operation of the Head’s Office and act as a key conduit between the Head, senior leadership, parents, staff, governors, and external organisations.

You will manage an exceptionally busy and complex diary, coordinate key school events, support senior leadership governance, and play a crucial role in representing the Head and the College across internal departments and external networks.

This is a role for someone who has at least 3 years of EA/PA experience at a senior-management level, can think ahead, remain calm under pressure, and handle sensitive information with absolute discretion.

If you are an exceptional EA who enjoys varied and meaningful work and you want to play a key role at one of the UK’s leading independent schools, we would love to hear from you.
