Senior EDA Librarian - R7278
New Mills
Job Description Renishaw design and manufacture high quality metrology instrumentation and control systems. Due to current demand, it is continuing to develop innovative products requiring further support and maintenance of all aspects of design. Therefore, a ‘Senior EDA Librarian’ is required to work within a busy, vibrant PCB design environment, providing support and development for the Electronic Design Automation (EDA) library and PCB Design. The EDA team support teams of both electronic design engineers (using schematics) and PCB designers, developing with both Zuken and Altium electronic design tools. The support and development for the libraries and EDA tools include circuit symbols, 3D component representation, component footprints, and PCB layout all conforming to IPC recommendations. In addition to this the EDA team also provide support and maintain the Zuken Cable & Panel tools and library. These EDA tools service all the Renishaw electronic design community from concept through to production. Responsibilities Supporting the creation / secondary checking of electronic component part data, using the library tools. Create 3D models using Siemens NX software. Read, understand and interpret engineering drawings and datasheets. Liaising with Electronic Engineers and Production Engineers to ensure the component library standards and requirements are achieved. Liaising with and supporting the EDA Team members tasks. Supporting the development of the EDA Library Tools and Processes. Communicating progress regularly and promoting team knowledge sharing. Key requirements HND (or equivalent) in electronics or associated discipline Experience with EDA tools and PCB design. Understanding of PCBs, electronic components, and design documentation PC literate and familiarity with Microsoft applications Ability to work individually and in a team Good Communication skills Desirable Requirements Detailed knowledge of the EDA tools including Zuken/Altium and NX Knowledge of the CAD library tools and 3D part creation Detailed knowledge of existing Renishaw processes – use of Syteline / Teamcenter. Advanced technical knowledge of PCBs, electronic components and design documentation Person specification The successful applicant will need to demonstrate that they have excellent skills in accuracy, good attention to detail and a logical approach to problem solving and Self-motivated. The individual should have good communication skills, both written and verbal, and will be able to work well within a team environment.
