Production Associate (Press Associate / Weld Associate)

G-TEKT Europe Manufacturing Ltd (G-TEM) is a global business within the field of design, development and manufacture of automotive body structures and engineering services.  We currently operate four UK Production facilities.

We are now seeking experienced Production Associates for our Assembly and Press Departments who have experience of working in a fast-paced manufacturing environment to join our Production team, initially on fixed term contracts.

Working in a fast-paced busy environment you will be working on a robotic welder or on a progression press the role involves:

Weld Associate

  • Operate robotic welding equipment by loading and unloading press components to achieve hourly build targets to meet customer requirements.
  • Ensuring all quality checks are completed on components, ensuring these are carried out to our quality standards and procedures
  • Pack components into stillage’s ensuring they are correctly labelled.
  • Reporting of faults to team leader to minimise downtime.
  • Basic TPM to be carried out.
  • Accurate completion of production paperwork
  • Supporting 5s activities within the department

Press Associate

  • Checking parts as they complete the pressing process for splits, burrs and excessive oil
  • Completing quality checks on start up to ensure parts are being completed to the correct standard
  • Palletising of completed components ensuring correct labelling in on stillage.
  • Assisting in changeover of dies
  • Ideally forklift trained with current counterbalance licence

The ideal candidate for this role will be able to demonstrate the following:

  • Good reliability and time-keeping
  • Must have excellent communication skills both verbal and written, able to read and follow written and verbal instructions.
  • Ability to work safely in a fast-paced environment to tight deadlines with minimum supervision
  • A collaborative approach to team-working
  • Must be flexible to work shift patterns 
  • Ability to learn quickly


  • 25 days holiday plus bank holidays (fixed holidays in line with our customers) + 8 bank holidays.
  • Overtime subject to business requirements (up to 1.5 hours compulsory per day)
  • Rotating two shift pattern  (06:00 – 14:50/16:20 – 01:05)
  • Shift allowance for late shift 20%
  • Increase in salary after successful completion of probationary period
  • Free onsite parking 
  • Full work wear provided.
  • Fixed term contracts, potentially ongoing.
