Reports to: Maintenance Manager

Working Pattern: 8am to 5pm - Rolling shift pattern including alternate weekends (7 days on, 2 off, 3 days on, 2 off)

Role Overview:

As a Maintenance Assistant at Cotswold Farm Park, you will play a key role in ensuring the smooth operation, upkeep, and safety of our site. Working across all areas, including visitor attractions, animal enclosures, accommodation, catering facilities, and event spaces, you will be responsible for both reactive and planned maintenance tasks. This includes remedial works, event build and break, and maintenance duty management.

Key Responsibilities:

Reactive & Planned Maintenance:

  • Respond swiftly to maintenance issues across the site to minimise disruption.
  • Undertake scheduled maintenance tasks, ensuring facilities and equipment remain in optimal condition.
  • Support compliance with health and safety regulations through proactive upkeep and repairs.

Maintenance Duty Management:

  • Take responsibility for maintenance operations on duty days, ensuring smooth running of the site.
  • Prioritise and delegate urgent maintenance tasks where necessary.

Event Build & Break:

  • Assist with the setup and dismantling of structures and facilities for seasonal events.
  • Ensure temporary installations are secure and fit for purpose.

General Remedial Works:

  • Carry out basic carpentry, plumbing, painting, and general repair work.
  • Maintain outdoor areas, pathways, and signage to keep the farm park safe and welcoming.

Collaboration & Communication:

  • Work closely with the wider team to ensure maintenance needs are met efficiently.
  • Liaise with external contractors when necessary, ensuring work is completed to the required standard.

What We’re Looking For:

  • Practical maintenance experience in a similar role, ideally in a visitor attraction, farm, or hospitality environment.
  • A hands-on approach with the ability to troubleshoot and solve maintenance issues efficiently.
  • Basic knowledge of plumbing, carpentry, painting, and general repair work.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Strong awareness of health & safety regulations and best practices.
  • A proactive, can-do attitude with a flexible approach to tasks and working hours.
  • A full UK driving licence is desirable.
