Accounts Manager vacancy (full-time)


A full time opportunity has arisen for an individual to run our Accounts Department at our Central Cheltenham office.

A bit about the role

  • Preparing and process international and domestic payments from the firms banking facilities
  • Co-ordinating and communicating the receipt of office and client monies to fee earners
  • Ensuring firm compliance with the Solicitors Accounts Rules (SAR)
  • Maintaining the client and office ledgers on the firms practice management system,
  • Processing purchase ledger postings,
  • Assisting with administrative tasks, analysing client account ledgers, compile data, conduct research and undertaking special projects as required,
  • Any other duties that may reasonably be required to ensure the efficient operation of the accounts department

A bit about what we need from you

Essential skills:

A positive team spirit with the ability to build strong working relationships within the firm, including senior management and partners

  • Experience of working in a legal accounts department ideally with experience of using Partner for Windows or other legal accounting software however full training will be given.
  • Knowledge of Accounting processes, Bank Reconciliations, Residential and Commercial Property completions.
  • Up-to-date knowledge of the SRA accounts rules
  • Self-motivated and able to work on own initiative
  • Good organisational skills, attention to detail and ability to work in a logical and methodical manner
  • High level of numeracy
  • Strong IT skills particularly in using Excel

Contract: Permanent, subject to a satisfactory probationary period.

Hours per week: Full-time, 37.5 hours per week

Start date: ASAP

Remuneration: Dependant on experience
