Operations Team Leader (with progression to management)

Cheltenham, Gloucester

What you'll need to succeed:

To be successful within this supported living team leader role you must have working
experience to able to support vulnerable adults towards independent living. You will
need strong skills in de-escalation, housing support and be able to face challenging
situations. This support service is also particularly looking for someone who can
bring additional skills to organise daily personalised activities where engagement is
easily achieved.

If you are the successful candidate, you will be joining an exciting team dedicated to
offering high quality support to meet personalised goals and daily requests. You will
be involved running a care service business. Professionalism and taking the extra
mile to help individuals and your team is essential at Cotswold Supported Living. We
will be supporting people following a person centred care approach.

Individuals are looking for team members who are honest, kind and trustworthy.
Individual’s close ties would prefer someone with a good knowledge of social media,
a wide variety of interests, have a great sense of humour and a good communicator.

Role Duties:

  • Lead a team to meet the service needs
  • Organise staff rotas
  • Support with intake assessments and admissions
  • Prepare & monitor weekly activity timetables
  • Oversee medication administration
  • Develop & update support plans and risk assessments
  • Homes auditing & checks
  • Main contact/point of call for individuals & families (build family relationships)
  • Staff supervisions and appraisals
  • Hold and prepare team meetings
  • Meet with health professionals whilst supporting individuals
  • Meet and supervise daily needs for all individuals
  • Note keeping & monitoring
  • Check service expectations are being achieved

Key Role Requirements:

  • Communicate and develop ideas to improve the quality of the service
  • Implement and help run an excellent support service
  • Computer skills and knowledge in using MSOffice
  • Self-motivated

  • Taking one’s own initiative to improve individual’s quality of life
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Offer a helping hand on one’s own initiative to empower people and their lives
  • Excellent time keeping and organisational skills

  • Ensure high quality support is implemented in every aspect of duties and job role
  • Understand and implement Cotswold Supported Living’s vison and objectives
  • Working together to keep individuals safe and free from abuse and neglect.


  • Good standard of written English
  • Excellent leadership skills
  • Up-to-date DBS checks that are readily available.

          o Role is subject to DBS checks.

  • Level 2 Diploma in Health and Social Care or above.

          o “We are committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of vulnerable adults and expect all staff and volunteers to share this commitment.

             This post is subject to a standard or enhanced DBS Disclosure.”

  • Training and a good understanding on any listed: Positive Behaviour Support (ABC), PBM training, Introduction to: (Learning Disabilities, Autism, Behaviours that challenge, Dementia, Complex needs, Mental Health), Manual Handling, Communication, Risk Assessments, Incident Reports, Health and Safety, Infection Control, First Aid, Food Hygiene, Safeguarding Vulnerable Adults, DOLS, Mental Capacity Act, Support Planning, Professional Boundaries, Equality & Diversity, Person Centred Approaches, Fire Safety.

Salary: £22,500 per annum (salary increase based on progression)
