Head of Care - Registered Manager


For Residential Special School and Independent Specialist College (Ensuring compliance with DfE National Minimum Standards and Care Quality Commission requirements)

Full time: 39 week (term time) + 2 additional weeks + 6 weeks per year,
full-time (37 hours per week)

Start Date: As soon as possible

Status: Permanent

The Head of Care will be a key member of the leadership and management team who provide leadership and strategic management of the organisation (St Rose’s School including the Nursery and St Martin’s Centre).The Head of Care will be specifically responsible to the Principal and Governing body for all care provision at St Roses.

The Head of Care will work with the Principal and the Lead Nurse to ensure we are fully compliant with the regulatory requirements of the Department for Education National Minimum Standards for Residential Special Schools and are fully compliant with regulatory and legislative requirements of the Care Quality Commission.

The Head of Care will work with the Principal and Lead Nurse to implement quality management and improvement systems across all residential provision. Monitoring standards on an on-going basis and identifying areas for improvement will be key to ensuring the high standard of care that we are so proud to deliver.

St Rose's is a non-maintained special school for pupils with severe, complex, profound and multiple learning difficulties.  We have provision from 2 to 25 years; with our post-19 students attending St Martin’s, our on-site college.   We have on-site residential provisions for school pupils and post-19 students and employ our own nurses, therapists and care team.  We also have our own hydrotherapy pool which is used by our own students and hired to external users.

Salary: NJC Grade 10 (SCP 37-40) £39,782 - £42,683pay award pending £35,957 - £38,579 (pro rata)
