Key Areas of Responsibility

You will be working as part of a team to deliver support to our older and vulnerable residents living within CBH sheltered properties. You will be responsible for providing housing related advice, support, and guidance to enable our residents to maintain their independence and tenancy conditions.


Knowledge and Experience

• A clear understanding of and commitment to customer care, equal opportunities, confidentiality and professional boundaries
• Knowledge of older people’s needs and services; and statutory agencies including best practice methods
• Knowledge and experience Health and Safety legislation with regards to procedures and working practices
• Understanding of Safeguarding Vulnerable Adults
• Knowledge of the wider housing support sector
• Knowledge of other statutory services including social services, mental health services, NHS services for older people, Fire service and other support agencies.


• Ability to manage own workload efficiently, achieving agreed targets and standards whilst working as part of a Team
• Well-developed written and verbal communication skills, and ability to listen to staff and customers
• Effective skills in leading meetings, motivating and persuading individuals
• Ability to review complex information and subsequently develop and implement plans
• Ability to work under pressure and in difficult situations
• Ability to remain calm and respond appropriately to emergency situations and provide emotional support as required, in the event of a death
• Ability to work proactively
• Ability to work effectively with partners and other agencies
• Experience of using basic IT packages (Windows Excel, Word, Outlook and other programmes)
• Car user and access to vehicle


• Commitment to provision of high quality person centred service
• Awareness of own personal style, and the impact of your style on the business
• Ability to deal with sensitive and difficult situations with customers and staff in an appropriate manner.
• Flexible and adaptable
• Clear understanding of equality issues


• Experience of working with older people
• Experience of working in social housing, social care or health background
• Qualification in a relevant area of work or that is transferable

Salary: Starting at £22,714 (pro rata) with annual increments to £24,222 (pro rata)

Hours Per Week: Permanent, Job share –Thursday and Friday (9am -5pm)
