Full time HR Policy and Advice Administrator

Based Dursley Office (The Priory), occasional travel to team meetings required.

We are a small business, growing steadily providing HR Consultancy to small and medium businesses across the South West and London.  Our consultants are in demand and requiring some office support to keep projects on track.  Whether that’s supporting with a Staff Handbook review or simply issuing a contract of employment, we’d like you to be the ‘go to’ for day to day HR administrative support.

Our consultants can be so busy, they forget to ask for help, so we’ll need you to be a self starter, excellent communicator and strong team player with the drive and dedication to consistently check if anyone needs an ‘extra pair of hands’ so that we can go that extra mile in exceeding client expectations.

We believe we deliver HR & Recruitment with a difference, we don’t sit on the fence, we apply our knowledge and practical experience to help our clients get the best from their workforce and gain confidence in making often difficult, but necessary decisions.

You’ll have a varied workload, surrounded by a supportive, fun team of HR consultants. We’re looking for the best candidate and therefore can be flexible around the hours needed, although we anticipate that we’ll need no less than 30 hours across a full week, potentially we’d go to four days if you’re an exceptional find 😊.

Generalist HR Policy and General Administrator

Job Purpose: To support HR consultants in writing policies and updating general HR Documentation to ensure our small and medium size businesses always receive the highest quality documentation.

Responsible for:  N/A
Reporting to:  Company Directors

Main Duties:

• To provide a proactive HR support administration service to our clients, and support our consultants in all areas of generalist HR;
• To keep abreast of changing developments in Employment Law and Update Policies and Procedures to reflect modern post COVID working environment.
• Manager the electronic filing system within our drop box/sharepoint systems,
• Support the HR Consultants with updating and amending employment contracts
• Supporting the administration of HR Client Software
• Supporting the Business Co-ordinator with general administration as required.
• To deliver HR administrative support via a variety of mediums including telephone, email.
• Taking notes of meetings and typing these up
• Pro-actively support the HR consultants within day to day administration.
• To build client/prospective clients relationships confidently
• To maintain accurate records of time spent on each client (for invoicing purposes).

Person Specification

• Educated to A’ level C or above.(Essential)
• Degree educated (Desirable)
• Excellent written English skills, (Essential)
• Experience updating and formatting policies (Essential)
• Knowledge of best practice HR (Desirable)
• Fully IT literate, demonstrable experience of using MS Office Applications including Excel and Powerpoint(Essential)
• Excellent organisational and time management skills (Essential)
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills (Essential)
• A flexible and positive approach to working in a small team (Essential)

Hours Per Week: 30-40 hours a week across 5 days
