Claims Handlers

Pro Insurance currently has a new opportunity for a Claims Handler to join the wider Claims team.

Pro currently has UK office locations in London, Glasgow, Gloucester, Horsham and Liverpool and operates a flexible working policy with regard to location and remote working. This role will be working on a remote basis but may be required to travel between these locations when required.


We are looking for a professional, committed and accountable claims handler who would have the following responsibilities:


Handling claims on a follow market basis (guidance from Lead market) within a range of Commercial Specialist classes of business Analysis of claims supporting documentation, including expert reports
High level policy / coverage review (not required to make final coverage decisions)
Validating financials presented by Brokers
Initial set up and maintenance of appropriate claims records
Regular use of Market claims applications, such as CLASS, ECF2
Case reserving adequacy & additional case reserving
Premium checking
Sanction checking with regular use of market systems, such as LexisNexis / FinScan
Compliance with strict SLA’s
Compliance with financial & non-financial referral triggers
Liaison with internal & external parties (including Brokers and appointed experts)
Diary & case load management
Static claim reviews

Skills and Experience

It is essential to have knowledge of the general insurance market and claims handling process, minimum 1 years’ experience
Knowledge of Lloyds & London Market practices and commercial specialist claims is desirable but not essential
Cert CII (or above) accreditation would be beneficial, but not essential (Pro fully supports study towards CII accreditation)
Knowledge of ceded and assumed reinsurance would also be useful but not essential.
Knowledge of handing claims deriving from various territories (including USA; Europe; South America; Australia & Asia) would be beneficial, but not essential
Ability to deliver accurate information with attention to detail
Excellent time management and organisational skills in order to meet Client requirements
Self-Motivated with the ability to work as part of an office based or remote team
Excellent and demonstrable written and verbal communication skills.
A conscientious, positive and enthusiastic approach to work, maintaining good working relationships with all colleagues and clients.
