*Landscape & Fencing Operatives (Trainees and Experienced Individuals)*

Dursley

Brushdale is a successful nationwide ecological contracting business operating from its base in Dursley, Gloucestershire. Working alongside ecologists our work enables businesses to build on land currently home to protected species such as great crested newts, reptiles, badgers, water voles and dormice. All must not be injured or killed during construction stages. Clients include most of the major UK Construction companies as well as other well-known names.

See our website for more information on what we do.

Each year we recruit trainees, initially on a temporary basis, as well as inviting more experienced people to join us. Full time, part time, seasonal and flexi/casual work are options which we will discuss. We welcome enquiries from individuals seeking a short-term worker contract, perhaps students on holiday who may return to us again next year for work, or individuals looking for a more permanent role now, or in the months ahead. Hourly rates of pay will reflect experience brought to the role or an excellent starting point for a school/college leaver (above National Minimum Wage) seeking training.

You will work as part of a small friendly team operating out of Dursley, travelling daily to sites unless there is the need to stay away overnight (all expenses paid). Work involves supporting the team leader to install ecological fencing, create new habitat for wildlife, build ponds, clear vegetation & trees and build new homes for badgers.

As a trainee, you will:

• hold a full, clean driving licence if you are 20 years old or over
• be able to get to our Dursley base each morning by car, bike or on foot
• enjoy working outdoors in all weather as part of a team
• be physically fit to the extent that you can labour for a number of hours each morning and afternoon
• have a positive ‘go get’ attitude and want to succeed in life
• get on with people naturally, enjoy learning new things and have the customer in mind at all times
• have a flexible attitude to your hours of work including being able to stay away for a number of nights on weeks when work is undertaken in the South East, South Coast or East Anglia/Essex.

If you have already undertaken training and worked elsewhere it would be advantageous if you also:

• had experience of work in the construction, landscape, forestry or agriculture sectors
• had experience and/or qualifications in operating chainsaws, brushcutters and similar equipment
• hold a CSCS card
• have a B&E trailer licence

Applicants should email their CV with a one-page letter detailing why they would like to join this business, whether they seek a trainee role or a more permanent contract and what they can bring in terms of knowledge, skills and energy by clicking on Apply Now.
