Legal Secretary: Litigation and Company Commercial Department


We are looking for an experienced Legal Secretary to join our Litigation and Company Commercial Departments, working full-time.

The Role

Providing secretarial support to the Directors and fee earners within the Departments, you will be liaising with clients and external organisations by telephone, email and hard copy correspondence.  You will use digital dictation and a case management system.  Your work will be accurate and completed to deadline when necessary.  

Photocopying, binding, diary management, booking and scheduling of appointments and travel arrangements, file opening and closing and handling of confidential information will also form part of your role.  Your responsibilities will include maintaining file records and databases pertaining to your work and, where necessary, to the work of your colleagues.

The Candidate

You will:

  • have accurate audio-typing skills
  • have legal secretarial experience in Litigation
  • understand the importance of client care
  • have good communication skills
  • have excellent attention to detail
  • have strong organisational skills
  • be able to work as part of a team
  • be proactive and able to use your initiative
  • be flexible and adaptable
  • be able to work well under pressure.

Experience with Company Commercial/Corporate work in the legal environment would be useful but not essential as training will be given.

Experience of working with the Proclaim practice management system will be an advantage but not essential as training will be given.
