Production Operative


About Us

Acoustic Polymers Ltd is a small company which designs and manufactures a range of specialist polymers which are mainly used underwater for various civilian and military applications. We hold certification to ISO 9001 and the quality of our processes and end products is extremely important to us.

Our customers are currently using our materials to:

  1. Replicate the behaviour of human flesh under ultrasound for medical training
  2. Apply to military submarines to absorb sound and maintain tactical advantage
  3. Line testing tanks used for acoustic performance modelling

The company is growing rapidly and there is increased demand for the manufacture of our ‘business as usual’ products as well as the design and manufacture of bespoke materials to meet customer specifications.

We now need an experienced Production Operative to join the existing team to increase our manufacturing capacity as well as meet our customer’s quality requirements and delivery dates.

What are your responsibilities?

  • To assemble and disassemble tooling products to defined standards.
  • Mixing and casting of product.
  • To follow all relevant instructions, both written and verbal.
  • To use the skills and techniques acquired during training, to work in an efficient and quality conscious manner so that product quality and production targets are met.
  • To work sensibly and safely at all times, ensuring compliance with Health and Safety regulations and reporting all Health and Safety concerns immediately.
  • Effectively use production machines, equipment and tools to meet targets.
  • Ensure Production paperwork is completed correctly and on time.
  • Ensure work area is kept clean and tidy.
  • The job will require you to be on your feet for long periods of time, as well as heavy lifting following strict manual handling practices.

What do you need to be successful in the role?

  • Ideally you will have experience working in a production manufacturing role.
  • Good level of manual dexterity in practical skills.
  • Forklift driver desirable or willingness to undertake training.
  • Good reliability, timekeeping &great communication skills.
  • Positive, self-motivated, and hardworking attitude with a drive to succeed.
  • Organised, logical and structured approach to practical tasks and problem solving.
  • A team player with a willingness to learn and progress.
  • Responsible for supportingSupervisor to meet targets.
  • Effectively running production machines to meet set daily targets.
  • Quality focused
  • A good level of English speaking and understanding is essential to ensure all our safety procedures / work instructions can be adhered to fully.

Due to the remote location your own transport is essential.

Permanent, full time position.
Holiday– 28 days (including bank holidays.)
