Job Title - Clinical Psychologist

Base – Acorn House, Gloucester GL1 3PX

Salary – £45,753 - £51,668 per annum (pro rata)

Hours – 18.75 (with some evening and weekend work)

Gloucestershire Health and Care’s Integrated Children and Young People’s Service has an exciting opportunity for a Clinical Psychologist to be part of a new multidisciplinary service for children, young people and their families who have persistent functional symptoms. We are looking for a highly motivated and enthusiastic Clinical Psychologist to be part of a multidisciplinary team to: provide evidence based psychological assessment, formulation and interventions to children, young people and their families; to provide support and psychological thinking for colleagues across Gloucestershire and contribute to research, service development and service improvement. The successful post holder will also possess skills in providing clinical supervision, particularly those staff working with vulnerable young people within multi agency settings and experience of supervising clinical trainees. The successful candidate will have the necessary specialist professional based skills and knowledge to undertake complex CYPS clinical risk assessments, including multi agency based risk assessments.

The Integrated Child and Young people’s service is a countywide service comprising physical and mental health professionals. Integrated CYPS includes CAMHS which provides high quality specialist mental health services to children and young people up to their 18th birthday and has locality bases in Stroud, Cheltenham and Gloucester.

CAMHS has a thriving Psychology team who meet regularly to maintain professional development issues. Clinical supervision is considered important for all clinical staff and there are good professional support networks. Research and service development are strong elements of professional practice within Gloucestershire CAMHS.

The role will require working in a within a multi-disciplinary team as well as working range of inter professional environments delivering services jointly with a range of other agencies.

The post holder should have experience leading projects or other clinical based initiatives.

The service has a strong multidisciplinary team and has robust clinical supervision, job planning and Continuing Professional Development structures in place.

This post requires the post holder to be able to undertake all statutory and mandatory training and post holders must be able to undertake physical interventions. Fitness for physical intervention will be assessed by Occupational Health.
