5 AXIS CNC OPERATOR - Permanent Full-Time
Cheltenham
We are an established bespoke furniture manufacturer based in Cheltenham. We are looking to recruit a CNC machinistto operate a 5 axis CNC to turn raw materials into quality furniture. This role does not require programming experience.
Job Role key duties will include:
Responsibilities:
- Interpreting technical drawings and configuring the machine settings with appropriate jigs
- Loading raw materials onto the 5 axis CNC jigs
- Choosing and loading the correct cutting tools for the job
- Calibrating machine jigs
- Troubleshooting issues during the machining process
- Completing quality control tests during the machining stage and on the final product
- Cleaning and maintaining the machine and work area
- Observe drilling, grooving, cutting, facing, taking measurements; detecting malfunctions; adjusting controls; replacing worn tools; adhering to quality assurance procedures and processes
- Strong attention to detail
- Ability to work independently and meet deadlines
- Performing all duties in accordance with safety rules and regulations, including the wearing of PPE supplied by the Company
Skills required:
- Ability to read, understand and work to technical drawings
- Read and understand instructions relating to the 5 axis CNC machine
- Good practical skills
- Good levels of concentration and, attention to detail
- Material and manual handling
- Maths skills to make calculations and take measurements with a vernier scale
Experience:
- 2+ years previous experience in similar role required
