Job Description
COTSWOLD FLUID POWER LTD design, manufacture and supply fluid power components and provide complete solutions for our customers.

Job Title: - Machine setter/Operator
Reports to: - Production Manager
General Description of job: - This position will involve working on New XYZ CNC lathes and Mills with the latest CNC Siemens 828D Controls. This will involve from the day to day operating of the machines through to setting and Programming from Engineering drawings.
Duties and responsibilities:-
• Setting and Programming
• Run and maintain both lathes and mills
• Inspection of finished components
• Day to Day running of the machines i.e. coolant and oil level checks and swarf removal.
• De burring of the finished components
Skills Required:-
• Computer literate
• Structured/organised approach
• Be able to work as part of a team
• Be able to use their own initiative
• Be able to read and work to engineering drawings
• The ability to make accurate measurements and work out any adjustments
• The ability to plan and organise workload to meet job deadlines.
Qualifications and requirements:-
• Full UK driving license
• Engineering background
• A desire to deliver a quality product
• Can use all types of engineering measuring equipment
• Worked in an engineering machine shop
• Experience in operating CNC lathes amd Mills.
• Apprentice trained either City & Guilds or level 3/HND in Mechanical engineering

General Comments:-
We would consider a person who has not been involved in setting and programming but has been involved in operating CNC Lathes and Mills who can read engineering drawings and make OFF SETS to the machine. We are prepared to invest in the training of the person to set and programme.

We are a small team and this is a good opportunity for a person to develop their skills and become involved in all aspects of the business.
