Mental Health & Wellbeing Practitioner


Salary:  £23489 - £30095 (FTE)  (£22122 - £28349 pro rata)

43 weeks per year (term time, inset and four weeks during school holidays), 37 hours per week, which can be negotiated at interview
Permanent contract

We are seeking to recruit a highly motivated and enthusiastic mental health & wellbeing practitioner, to join our Inclusion Team and provide support to our students. You will provide interventions to individual students for whom this would be beneficial to their wellbeing, attendance at school and success in their studies. You will also provide regular focused group work. You will liaise with the Assistant Headteacher responsible for inclusion, the counselling service and the parents to ensure student access to appropriate internal and external sources of support. You will contribute to the provision of whole school information regarding key messages relating to mental health and wellbeing, and the planning of relevant tutor/prep activities.
The successful applicant will be educated to Level 3 and will have some mental health/wellbeing training and experience of working with children and adolescents. You will demonstrate effective interpersonal, organisational and administrative skills and have experience of offering mental health and wellbeing interventions. You will have experience of working with individuals from different cultures, disabilities, sexual orientations and ages, preferably within a secondary school or other educational setting.
You will be well supported in this role by the school’s mental health lead and inclusion team.
