Part Time Volunteer/Activities Coordinator

Gloucester

Building Circles is a Charity whose aims are to prevent social isolation and loneliness for adults with learning disabilities across the County, as well as being dedicated to keeping vulnerable adults safe from harm.

We are now looking to recruit a new Volunteer/Activities Coordinator to take responsibility for all aspects of the volunteer programme including development, recruitment, induction, management, support and volunteer engagement and retention for Cheltenham, Tewkesbury and The Cotswolds. In addition, you will be tasked with setting up 2 new services within your region – a Community Allotment and Activity Workshops.

clear vision and a strong sense of values. The successful self-disciplined, confident Volunteer Coordinator, who is comfortable with pressure and challenge will demonstrate:

The successful candidate will instinctively use their initiative, and creativity and have the ability to make decisions quickly and be confident in being accountable for these.

Reporting to the CEO the Volunteer Coordinator will help lead in the development and delivery of Building Circle’s volunteer programme, achieving results which are aligned with the larger picture of the organisation and its strategic goals and play a pivotal role in raising the profile of Building Circles by acting as an ambassador for the organisation at all times.

Ideally you will have some experience of working with people with learning disabilities, but
this is not mandatory.

The role will involve passing a DBS check, as well as being able to provide 2 solid references, one which must be from your last employer. You must also be able to commit to working for 4-5 hrs on a Saturday, 6 times a year in order to attend our main social events and activities. A full clean, driving licence is also essential for this role.
