Hays Accountancy & Finance are partnering with a growing SME to recruit for a hands-on and experienced part-time Finance Manager, based in their Cheltenham, Gloucestershire office. This is a varied and evolving permanent accounting position reporting into the company directors and overseeing/coaching a small finance team. The position will be tailored around the right candidate, and you will have the opportunity to improve processes/systems as the company grows further. The organisation can offer part-time hours over three, four or five days per week or school hours, dependable on candidates requirements. A great opportunity to really add value to a growing SME.
Your new role
Your key duties will involve overseeing a small accounting team, ensuring deadlines are adhered to, preparation of monthly accounts, preparing quarterly VAT returns, maintaining individual property accounts for clients, raising service charge demands, and monthly bank reconciliations. You will deal with complex accounting queries, liaise with bankers/suppliers when required, prepare service charge budgets and forecasting, along with preparing monthly payroll. You will be involved in month-end processes, cash flow processes, liaise with external accountants for year-end preparation, and be involved in financial analysis to aid business decisions. You will have oversight on all transactional duties including purchase ledger and credit control processes, remaining hands-on when needed. You will support the Directors in ad-hoc financial projects including process/systems improvement.
What you'll need to succeed
To be considered for this Part-time Finance Manager role, you will need experience within a similar position, strong communication skills to build internal/external relationships, and be used to managing workloads to time-constraint deadlines. You will be comfortable working within a small/medium-sized business and close-knit teams, with key MS excel skills, and experience in financial systems. You will be part-qualified/qualified ACCA/CIMA/ACA or qualified by experience, with a proactive and positive working approach, along with being a quick learner. Experience within the property sector, Sage financial systems and supervisory experience would be advantageous but not essential.
