We have a strong reputation in the local community. Slimbridge is steadily growing with 148 pupils on roll. We have 5 classes in total, as well as an on-site nursery.
We are looking to recruit a capable and committed Teaching Partner to work with high needs pupils with EHCPs across all age ranges throughout the school, the candidate must be able to work with pupils who demonstrate challenging behaviours through reception to year six. The successful candidate will be able to respond effectively to the needs of young people with SEN and assist their learning and development, showing patience and a depth of understanding of children who learn in unique and individual ways. They will have high ambitions and set stretching targets, ensuring that the children with SEN get the precise support they need.
This post will suit candidates who are passionate about SEND and inclusion and who are flexible, creative, caring and committed to providing the best learning opportunities for all. This candidate will be flexible and hardworking and be able to work with teachers on creating and adapting a bespoke curriculum for the children in their care. They will also be able to lead learning and create lesson resources to suit the pupils who they are working with. In addition to this, the candidate will be confident in leading small group intervention sessions for pupils. Ideal candidates will have skills in pastoral support and speech and language therapy. Candidates will also be required to carry out additional tasks for the SENCO on request, such as assisting with reviews and supporting administration.

We are looking for someone who:
• has proven classroom experience
• is able to work with pupils with challenging behaviour
• is focused on helping children to achieve targets and secure progress
• has confidence when working with students on a 1:1 or small group basis and assisting the class teachers where necessary e.g., leading groups and providing short-term cover
• can establish strong relationships with children whilst setting firm boundaries
• can lead pastoral interventions
• understands speech and language therapy
• is passionate about working with children with special educational needs
• is sensitive to the social and emotional implications of each child
• is supportive and keen to work as a part of a dedicated team
• aspires to be exceptional in their practice
• has a level 3 teaching assistant qualification or equivalent
• has a good understanding of the National Curriculum
• Is able to work independently and within a team
• has experience of working with high needs SEND pupils with autism, ADHD
